The kids helped to plant a pine tree today, with the intention of letting it grow and leaving something behind. We found the shovel and started moving some dirt, planing the tree, filling the hole and watering it - only to have Snoopy run off with it. Then we had to do it all over. Only time will tell if roots will grow deep...
