All Hail Queen of the Diapers!

Kyrie tried to rule over her brothers and sister by being Queen of all diapers. It might be a smelly job, but it doesn't seem to bother her! She felt very majestic in her diaper tiara!

Happy 2nd Birthday, Karis!

Today Karis turned 2! I can hardly believe it. She woke up before everybody and went exploring until I got up to make her birthday breakfast. We ate and then she got to open her first present. We let the children open a gift sporatically throughout the day so they enjoy each present more instead of being overwhelmed by all of them at once. For her first gift she received a piggy bank that sings, talks, and counts coins as she puts them in. She loved it and played with it all day. Her brother Kian showed her where her other presents were hidden so she opened a few before she was allowed! Then later we went to McDonald's for her birthday lunch. We then picked up her birthday cupcakes and went home to play outside for a couple hours. She then came in and opened her present from her brothers which was a trunk filled with dress up clothes.

I think this was her favorite gift because there were so many outfits and jewelry and accessories to try on. We set the table with the Disney princess theme, because she loves Cinderella, whom she calls "Rella" and prepared for Grandma and Grandpa to come for her little party.

We had supper and cupcakes and then for a surprise, Trond made sno-cones for everyone. The birthday girl then opened presents from her grandparents. She thought she was truly a princess for a day! She even got to wear her Cinderella pajamas to bed. What a day for her. She even got to skip her nap! We did manage to find pink bear so she was able to celebrate the special day with Karis. All in all I think our Karis Janay had a great birthday and will remember it fondly!

Kobe & Kian Head for Duluth

The two brothers with similar haircuts head for the city at the big lake with an inferiority complex with Grandma & Grandpa - to feed the seagulls of course. Maybe they will even sneak a cold chocolate treat along the way. In any case they will have fun...

Home Depot Crafts

The first Saturday of the month is Home depot for Daddy and the boys. Kobe and Kian assembled two catamarans without hurting Daddy's thumbs too bad. Great job, well done!

Kyrie Tries Baby Food

Our last little darling, Kyrie, has tried baby food. She ate some cereal with bananas and seemed to really enjoy it. Her brothers and sister really thought it was fun also. I tried to feed it to them but they just didn't think it was edible. Except for Karis, however, who very willingly opened her mouth to try the mushy food. She just laughed and asked for more. Hopefully she will not revert backwards and overindulge her taste buds! We are going to try something different this time, however. We bought a baby food grinder and are going to try to make as much homemade food as possible. We think this will be a little easier on our pocketbook. We shall see if Miss Kyrie feels the same.

Daddy, the Water-Meister

Dirt accumulates, especially on the young male specimens. With that taken into consideration, after a long day of play and fun - the brothers of the house needed a major cleaning. Usually Mommy is regarded as the go-to person for this kind of operation, but tonight Daddy won the popularity vote - and was chosen to dunk the boys. Splash, scrub, water-in-my-eyes, backwards crawls, dinosaur submersions, bathroom-floor-wading-pool, shampoo, rinse, soap, loud, scrub, scrub, scrub, rinse, splash, dry, dry, teeth, lotion, jammies, stories - bath time...

Brothers

Their eyes were getting quite square in appearance when daddy came back from work. "Daddy's home!" The brothers gazed out into space with a look that only Visine could cure. "Hello!" - No response. Daddy gave them both a big hug from behind the couch. The figures were as sculpted in marble. Did not even sense his presence. It was then that daddy discovered the power-button on the remote. "Click" Show's over...
