Forest Lake Christmas Program

Kobe and Kian joined the rest of their Forest Lake "Flyers" in Christmas songs performed this afternoon at the Reif Performing Arts Center in Grand Rapids. They seemed to enjoy singing for a packed crowd. Grandma and Grandpa were there to watch as well. Kyrie was bopping along to the beat, and Karis was just plain mesmerized. I had the privilege of recording them for ICTV, so I was paid to be there. Can't get much better than that. I'm so proud of my boys.





P.S. Notice Kian's tie. He looks adorable. Couldn't tell him no...

Inner-Tube Fun

What a blast!! You could see the delight in their eyes and the adventure in their heart as the boys took off for the first time being pulled behind Uncle Jay's boat in an inner-tube. They watched their older cousins go first and decided that it looked like too much fun to not try it!! Each boy received 8 rides total between Sat. and Sun. Kian


asked when we would be getting a boat so they could do this all the time!! The great thing was they were so tired from all that that they fell asleep as soon as heads hit the pillow! ; )

Last Day of Kindergarten

Kobe had a great last day of Kindergarten. He is going to miss his teacher and new friends but is ready for summer vacation!

A Sunday Morning Surprise

At daybreak we heard some rumblings upstairs. Some chairs were moved around, and little thumps sounded through the florrboards at sporadic intervals. Soon Kobe peeked his head through our bedroom door pleading with us to get up and come with him. We feared the worst as we half-awake fumbled up the stairs. He lead us into the livingroom, and there to our astonishment was a fully set breakfast table - complete with food. Everything was in the perfect place, and our son was beaming. Surprise!

Happy Easter!

Because today is Easter Sunday and tomorrow is the 1977 year anniversary of the resurrection, we dressed all the kidlets up in their Sunday's best. The kids were happy to pose for the camera, and to wish everyone a Happy Easter.

Kobe Sheds Too

Following Kian's haircut ordeal, it was Kobe's turn. He was not similarly persuaded, but dragged his heels a bit as well. Kobe likes to be first in line, so that was more the nature of his slight skeptisism to getting the new due. He ended up being quite happy with his haircut...

Kobe Celebrates Sixth Birthday

Eight boys, three hours, one happy boy. Kobe has been looking forward to this day for a long time. He wanted a pirate birthday theme, and he and his guests were all attired with pirate trinkets and booty. There was a treasure hunt, candy, games and a movie too. It left two exhausted parents, but the joy on those boys' faces made it all worthwhile. Our oldest boy is six.

Harvest Festival

The children dressed up for a festival at church. Kobe was Spiderman, Kian was Batman, Karis was a cheerleader, and Kyrie was tinkerbell. The children played games, won candy, and had a great time pretending to be a superhero!

Cleaning the fishtank

Kobe decides to give Daddy a break and cleans the fishtank for him. He loves to care for all of God's creatures...even the slimy ones.

Kian the Cubby

Kian is now officially a member of Cubbies, the program at church that is part of Awanas. He learns Bible verses, sings songs, and has a great time playing games and meeting new friends. Kobe graduated from Cubbies to Sparks in the Awana program. Both boys are loving it!

Time to take a Snooze

Trond caught this moment of snoozing by the boys! Kobe must have been lonely being up so high in his bunk bed!

Kobe starts Kindergarten

Kobe is a Kindergartner! Daddy, Mommy and Kobe all went for the half day of Kindergarten. Kobe got to see what he would be doing in class, as well as meet some new friends! After, we all went to the New China Buffet restaurant (Kobe's choice) and had a wonderful time just the three of us. We also took a trip to Super Wal-Mart where Kobe wanted to ride the mechanical horse. The three little kids were being baby-sat by relatives. It was a wonderful start to Kobe's first year of school!

The Dentist

Kobe and Kian went to the dentist for the first time. They were a little nervous, but both were brave boys and came through with flying colors!
