Attack of the Blue Pen
Afternoon. Daddy was coming home from work. The sun's rays were shining through the bare branches of the trees, inviting the snow to melt its last cold strongholds. The gentle breeze of damp spring air stroke up against his face as he approached the door of the house. He smiled at his wife who was sitting at the steps watching two of the children playing in front of the garage. Her head was buried in her left palm. "How was your day my dear?" he asked in anticipation. "Those were fine," she answered. "Don't even ask about the other two." It was
the he spotted a face over her shoulder that somewhat reminded him of his youngest son. Out of the glass door two Gollumesque pupils stared in his direction before the face that carried them disappeared back into the house. It was blue. As father of the household he knew that he carried the responsibility of inquiring the origin of the blue clues, and reluctantly followed the sound of footsteps fading into the other end of the building. The trail of inc trickled into the bathroom, where the apparent attack must have happened. From the projectile splatter on the floor and the bathtub seemed to indicate that the pen must have been waiting for his son to enter the bathroom to do his business - Then without forewarning jumped him from behind, cracked itself open, forced itself onto his face and legs , violently scribbling the boy and the toilet paper - smearing the white toilet seat dark aqua. And then - with its last drops - staining the boys hands blue before disintegrating on the tiled floor. Daddy turned to the boy who was wandering about without pants, "How did this happen son?" Kian looked up with a chiseled expression, "I don't know." Poor thing, he must have been traumatized...
